主讲人:Professor Brett Elizabeth Blake

紐約聖約翰大學教育學院教授,博士生導師。教育學院碩士培養項目負責人,文森特社會正義與貧困研究中心高級研究員。美國西北大學語言學碩士,芝加哥伊利諾斯大學教育學博士。研究領域涉及應用語言學、社會語言學、TESOL、英語寫作教學、青少年教育及教育公平研究等。出版專著《少有人走過的路:課堂中的批判素養與語言教學,1964-1996》(2018)、《寫作教學:過程、體裁與教學活動》(2018)。

Dr. Brett Elizabeth Blake is a Professor of Literacy and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in the School of Education at St. John’s University in New York City, where she is also the Program Coordinator for all the Master’s Degree Literacy programs and a Senior Research Fellow at the Vincentian Center for Social Justice and Poverty.

Dr. Blake has written and published extensively on the learning of diverse students, especially for those whom English is not their first language. Her most recent books include, “A road less traveled: Critical literacy and language learning in the classroom, 1964-1996” with her late father, Dr. Robert W. Blake, and “Teaching writing for all: Process, genres and activities,” an anthology co-written with Dr. Maslak, the presenter for the first part of this lecture series.

Dr. Blake earned her Master’s degree in linguistics from Northwestern University and her Doctorate in curriculum design from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

講座簡介:

本講座是質性研究工作坊(實踐與反思)系列學術講座的第二部分,通過具體的質性研究案例進行紮根理論和歸納分析的學術實踐運用,幫助與會者提升具體的質性研究學術寫作意識和能力。主要包括以下幾個方面的質性研究學術寫作實踐:1)如何進行質性研究數據編碼;2)如何進行數據分析及研究結果部分的寫作;3)如何進行論文結語及展望部分的寫作。

The purpose of this lecture and interactive workshop is to follow through on Part I of this qualitative research series,  “Research writing for all:  Thinking and writing in the qualitative paradigm.” Here, during the 1st half of the lecture/workshop, participants will share their qualitative research plans including preliminary interviews and/or observations conducted (introduced during Part I by Dr. Maslak).  The second half of this lecture/workshop will focus on the theories and practices of research analysis, with a focus on grounded theory and inductive analysis.  Participants will also actively learn how to “code” data, report results and develop conclusions and implications.  It is hoped that at the end of this 2-Part series, attendees will be ready to begin a study of their own.
